Take it in your own pace. One breath at a time. Some days are harder than others. Be kinder to yourself, especially when it feels really hard. Take a step back from all the chatter of the world. Take a step back, close your eyes and breathe deeply.

Don’t push through the pain or hide under your anxiety. Just close your eyes, take a deep breath and acknowledge how you feel. Sooth your raging anxiety. Sooth your burning insecurity. Sooth your racing heart.

When you listen to your body, when you acknowledge how you feel and when you try to sooth yourself into feeling relief – you are healing.

Like a sleeping bumble bee, soothed and shielded by the gentle rose – resting in your own safe haven until your body is ready to rise back up again.

It is reliefgiving to withdraw from the world into your own safe haven, however, facing the memory of the traumatic event and facing how you feel, might be a beautiful next step on your healing journey. You can’t change what happened to you, but you can change how you feel about it, and that will make all the difference.
