The magic thing to do when everything seems to fall apart

No matter what you look like, no matter what you have done and no matter what you have been through or what is happening in your life: you have to start loving yourself. Start out in small easy steps:

  • Just listen to what you say the thoughts you think about yourself and everytime you think or say something negative about yourself, stop and rephrase yourself in your mind; “that was an old way of thinking of me, I will find better ways to speak and think about me” and just let that be enough for now.
    • Sooth yourself. Just be kinder to yourself in all situations, tell yourself it is ok and that you are doing the best you can from where you are and that is enough. Sooth yourself into relief by saying things like “This too shall pass. It will get better. It is alright. I can do this. I am doing the best I can. It will work out really well for me. Only good will come from this experience…”

    • Treat yourself like someone you really like. Pamper yourself, wear beautiful clothes, eat delicious food, do more things that bring you pleasure – every day. Appreciate yourself more, look for things you like about yourself and let those aspects be your focus as you think of yourself.
    • Start telling yourself that you love yourself. Use a mirror and look into your eyes several times every day and say “I love you. I really love you”. Feel for it, want to feel it, reach for love and keep doing it several times every day.

These are just small steps that you can begin doing right now, and they are so valuable! YOU matter. YOU are beautiful. YOU are loved. It is time that you stop beating yourself up with your critical mind and start enjoying being who you are.

This is YOUR life. YOU play the main character and how YOU feel matters more than anything. YOU are in complete charge of how YOU feel because you choose the perspective you have on everything you give your attention to, including yourself.
