What ever it is that you want to do – do it for YOU. Don’t do something because other people want you to do it – ask yourself if YOU really want to do it. If the answer is no, just don’t do it. If the answer is yes, then do it. But don’t do it for them, do it for YOU.
People mean really well but none of them can know exactly how you think and feel regarding all topics – only you do. Follow what you believe is the right path for you and lovingly allow others to agree or disagree with your choice.
I have always had a nice figure regardless how much I eat. And as many of you know I have always been drawn to candy, chocolate and sugar.
All my life – ever since I was a small child – I have used candy and chocolate as a way to sooth myself. I have been through a lot of difficulties such as sexual abuse multiple times, physically abused, been bullied, alcoholic parent, death of my parents and much more. I always turned to candy and chocolate to make myself feel better. I ate 200-500g of milk chocolate EVERY DAY for over 15 years.
Since I was 24 years old I have been improving my thinking, especially regarding myself. I managed to go from feeling like a powerless victim to feeling empowered, confident and in love with life. But I kept eating lots and lots of candy and chocolate every day – I simply enjoyed it too much to quit.
As I had given birth to my first baby in August 2014 I lost all interest in milk chocolate and started eating Nutella instead. I ate over 45 kilos of Nutella during 5 months.
Then I found a new craving – powdered vanilla flavoured sugar. I ate 200-500 grams of powdered vanilla flavoured sugar EVERY DAY through my second pregnancy and 4 months after. (Until the last day of May this year! ) Then I decided to stop. And I did. I wanted to show myself that I can feel happy without over eating on sugar every day.
It has now been 60 days without my vanilla flavoured powdered sugar. I feel so high on life, I feel so good! I am in love with life and I have so much energy! I have no intention to start eating the powdered vanilla flavoured sugar again, I don’t need it.
Chocolate and sugar has been a magnificent way for me to sooth myself and feel better – nothing wrong with finding your own path of least resistance. But I felt I was ready to take it to the next level – of truly practicing feeling good unconditionally – not needing a substance in order to feel good. I am so happy I took this step, I feel so empowered.
