Today We Sign The Papers

After all the excitement of getting engaged and planning the wedding, today is the day you finally sign the papers and make it official! Here’s what you need to know about signing your marriage license.

Most states require that you apply for a marriage license at least a few weeks before your wedding date. The process is usually pretty simple – you’ll fill out some paperwork and pay a small fee. Once you have your license, you’re free to get married!

On your wedding day, your officiant will ask you to sign the marriage license. They will also collect signatures from witnesses (usually two people who are attending your wedding). Once the officiant has signed off on the license, they will send it back to the county clerk’s office to be filed.
