If you’re anything like me, you probably have a few people in your life who always seem to come to you with their problems. And while it’s nice to be able to help out our friends and loved ones when they’re struggling, sometimes it can start to feel like we’re being used as a free therapist.
If you find yourself in this situation, it’s important to set boundaries with these people. Let them know that you’re happy to listen and offer advice, but that you also need time for your own life and problems. If they continue to try to dump all of their issues on you, it might be time to distance yourself from them.
It’s also important to remember that you don’t have to be the one to fix everyone’s problems. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is just listen and be there for them. They may not always take your advice, but just knowing that you’re there for them can make a world of difference.
