We all have a limited amount of time and energy. Every day, we’re faced with choices about how to spend those precious resources. And every choice comes with an opportunity cost – meaning, there’s always something else we could be doing instead.
So, when you say “yes” to one thing, you’re inevitably saying “no” to something else.
This can be a good thing! If you’re choosing to say “yes” to your health by working out or eating right, then you’re also saying “no” to unhealthy habits. If you’re choosing to say “yes” to your career by putting in extra hours at work, then you’re also saying “no” to leisure activities.
But sometimes, we can get caught up in a cycle of saying “yes” to things that don’t really matter – things that don’t add value to our lives or help us move closer to our goals. And when that happens, it’s important to take a step back and reevaluate our priorities.
So, what are you saying “yes” to today? What’s important?
Think about your answer, and make sure your actions align with your words. Every day is a new opportunity to choose what’s important. Choose wisely!
